Avenue Medical Centre - a turn key solution to your practice of medicine!
At AMC we are able to offer our physicians the opportunity to practice in a modern, pleasant and professional environment that allows them to dedicate all "in office" professional time, to the practice of medicine. We accomplish this through centralized management, a sophisticated computer system (including fully integrated electronic medical records) and coordination of our support staff. This combination ensures the effective operation and organization of the day to day routines of the practice of medicine.
Flexibility Our group practice format allows a physician to run their practice according to their own particular "style" and at their own pace. This allows a physician to work 3, 4, 5 days a week - mornings, afternoons or evenings.
Cost There is absolutely zero financial investment required to join the AMC and commence practice. In fact, bi-weekly draws begin immediately, so there is no need to personally finance accounts receivable or operating costs.
Remuneration The percentage split for a new associate varies and is based on estimated gross fees, less any Ministry of Health clawbacks. Generally a percentage is retained by the clinic for contribution to overhead cost.
In addition to bi-weekly draws, AMC prepares each physician a quarterly financial statement (Apr 30, July 31, Oct 31, Jan 31) and based on individual fee volumes, a distribution of any funds owning is made 45 days after the end of each quarter (June 15, Sept 15, Dec 15 and Mar 15). These dates coincide with the personal income tax instalment dates for Revenue Canada.
There is also an opportunity for associates to become shareholders in the Medicine Professional Corporation which owns Avenue Medical Centre.
Group Practice and Cooperation
AMC operates a call group of local physicians (both AMC physicians and outside physicians) to cover hospital obligations and the after hours service. Currently the physicians participating are associated as a Family Health Organization and receive all the bonuses associated with this government program. In general a physician will work an average of 2 evenings a month and one weekend every 6 weeks, as part of this arrangement.
